There’s never a shortage of haute events in San Francisco. As the weekend draws near, it’s time to start planning your calendar. Here are some happenings worth checking out:

Jason Derulo at Macy’s Glamorama

Singer/songwriter Jason Derulo headlines Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama 2014, which celebrates this year’s theme “Fashion Rocks” at the Golden Gate Theatre on Friday, Sept. 12th. Get ready for a haute merger of the acclaimed Fashion Rocks television event with Macy’s signature mix of pop-culture, style, music and dance.  No word on whether Derulo will bring his equally fabulous girlfriend Jordin Sparks to the 32nd annual event, benefiting AIDS Emergency Fund, Glide Foundation and Project Open Hand. Macy’s iHeartRadio Rising Star contest winners Before You Exit will also perform. And for the first time, you can shop the runway after the show. The after-party kicks off at the legendary Warfield.

PlumpJack Winery Reserve Release Weekend

PlumpJack Winery Founders Gordon Getty and Gavin Newsom, along with GM John Conover will celebrating the release of the 2011 PlumpJack Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon this weekend in Napa Valley’s Oakville region. The festivities get going on Friday, Sept. 12 with a reception and exclusive barrel tasting with winemaker Aaron Miller at the winery followed by a dinner whipped up by Bottega Restaurant’s celebrity Chef Michael Chirarello at CADE Estate. There’s also a Release Celebration on Saturday from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. For more information, visit PlumpJackWinery.com/events.

Pop by Helpers House of Couture on Sunday, Sept. 14 from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. to shop for a good cause. Cocktail dresses, evening gowns, jewelry, hats, shoes, men’s fashions and more are available. Helpers, under the direction of Joy Venturini Bianchi, benefits the developmentally disabled.  Napa Valley Rocks!

Looking ahead to later in the month: Mark your calendar for Napa Valley Rocks!, taking place Thursday, Sept. 25 to Sunday, Sept. 28. The earthquake relief effort will bring together community members, chefs, vintners, and business owners for four fun-filled days to “sip, savor, shop, shake & support” the many Napa Valley residents and businesses affected by 6.0 quake on Aug. 24. It’s nice to know that 100% of the monies raised will flow through to the Napa Valley Community Relief Fund. In addition to a star-studded charity wine-pairing dinner featuring many of Napa Valley’s top chefs and vintners, there will also be concerts and a half-marathon. For more information, visit: www.napavalleyrocksweekend.com.
