Flourish This Fall with Wellness Programs This September

Different places have time for different things. In Miami, September is the time to get healthy. People come back from summer vacations after eating, drinking, and taking it a little too easy. Now, they have to shore up, lose a few pounds and get ready for…. wait for it… season!

National Yoga Month at Fontainebleau by World Red Eye

Lapis at Fontainebleau has a month-long “Wellness Series,” that includes TRIBE Yoga by Green Monkey that will feature a DJ set with Michelle Pooch, and of course Green Monkey’s famous teachers on September 26. There will also be a Zumba Party in Pink featuring a group class on the Ocean Lawn with a $20 entrance fee that raises funds for breast cancer. Lastly, Bite Beauty will host a Pop-Up Shop inside of Lapis. The all-natural lip-shade line will be creating shades for customers with custom textures, scents and colors.

September is National Yoga Month, and the Kimpton Hotel Group is doing it up right.  EPIC’s Exhale will have classes like Chill Yoga, Flow Yoga and Power Yoga while the Surfcomber in Miami Beach will be featuring free beachfront yoga classes every Saturday at 9:30am.

Of course, it always helps to have a new spa to get the excitement rolling and COMO Metropolitan is pretty darn new as hotels go. They are introducing a range of holistic facials with Dr. Hauschka’s famous biodynamic skincare line. The treatments follow the doctor’s advice, which runs contrary to conventional wisdom (i.e..- throw away your “night cream” or just use it in the day). But we’ll report more on that later.

ELLE Spa, that chic spa in the Eden Roc run born of the fashion magazine of the same name has a number of apropos September specials. They’re offering a “Hot Toddy for the Body”, a 50-minute exfoliating service using rich bourbon, brown sugar and a decadent body scrub finishing with a dollop of body milk for $99. The Autumn Bliss Massage for $99 is a sort of continuation of Miami Spa Month. The treatment features seasonal scents of fall to take you on foliage-filled stay cation— as long as you get it Monday-Thursday.

If that’s not enough for you, check out the Miami Spa Aesthetics & Wellness Expo on September 27 and 28 at the Miami Beach Convention Center where there will be two days worth of wellness seminars, demonstrations and more. And it’s open to the public, so you can find out about new treatments and products at the same time the pros do.
