The long-awaited Beatriz Milhazes exhibit opened last week at PAMM with a party full of art-world VIPs like top-donor Jorge Perez.  The exhibit, titled Beatriz Milhazes: Jardim Botânico, was curated by PAMM Chief Curator Tobias Ostrander, and marks the first major U.S. retrospective of Milhazes’ work, chronicling the past 25 years of her career. Kind of a big deal for such a widely collected artist, who’s tableaux are some of the most expensive in the world.

The opening celebration unveiled 40 large-scale paintings, collages and screen prints and was the Miami debut of Brazilian band Alma Tropicalia. Other diversions included sets by DJ Marcello Bentine and Brazilian-inspired cocktails as the sun set over Museum Park. For more info on the exhibit, click here.
