Bar Centro at the SLS Hotel

We love the "Alice in Wonderland" feel of Jose Andres' Bar Centro at the SLS hotel as much as we do the drinks. Everything here is a bit surreal, from the Philippe Starck-designed decor—monkey-flashing LED screens—to the libations, which are made of everything from cotton candy to nitrogen to "salt air." You'll go into sensory overload here—and that's a good thing.

Bar Marmont at Chateau Marmont

Is there any place more quintessentially L.A. than Bar Marmont, the sexy bar located at Chateau Marmont? We don't think so. Bar Marmont has managed to stand the test of time thanks to its hush-hush 'don't ask, don't tell' vibe, its strict door policy and its timeless elegance. As you're partying into the wee hours, don't forget to nosh on the terrific fare courtesy of former Spotted Pig chef Carolynn Spence.

Upstairs Bar at the Ace Hotel

Downtown's Ace Hotel is THE hipster hangout of Los Angeles, which makes its hotel bar, the Upstairs Bar, the place to see and be seen. You'll find spectacular views of the city on this rooftop bar as well as bright, world-traveled twists on traditional tropical cocktails — with raw fruits, teas and spices converging on a regular United Nations of spirits: English gins, French aperitifs and American whiskeys as well as an assortment of frozen drinks. In case you're wondering, yes, even the cool kids drink daiquiris.

Cameo Bar at the Viceroy Santa Monica

Many of Santa Monica's favorite bars and restaurants are casual and relaxed in keeping with the westside beach vibe, but not so Cameo Bar. This dark and sensuous mid-twentieth century-style lounge is still a favorite haunt for the rich and famous. Candlelight illuminates Kelly Wearstler's retro-glam design, creating the perfect, chic setting for a rendezvous.

Library Bar at the Redbury Hotel

The Redbury's Library Bar might just be your favorite home away from home. With its cozy, book-lined indoor lounge, dim lighting, beautifully landscaped courtyard with fire pits and oversized, comfy furniture, you'll be loathe to leave. Warning: you will be quizzed on how much you love the Library. Don't worry though; we're sure you'll pass with flying colors.
