Celebrity cook, author and TV personality Martha Stewart paid a visit to Macy’s of San Francisco’s Union Square district today.  As part of Macy’s American Icon Series, Stewart partnered with the retailer to bring her classic American recipes to the masses in her new book, Martha’s American Food. The media mogul arrived to a full house of admirers (most with book in-hand), before demonstrating her favorite cocktail recipes from her book. Following the demonstration, she stayed for a 10-minute Q&A session where she talked about some of her favorite places to eat in San Francisco, among many fun subjects, then finally delighted guests with a book signing.  Here is a peek at what she had to say:

Favorite Go-To Recipe when cooking alone:  Omelette and Scrambled Eggs from my own farm chickens

Summer Wedding Cake Advice:  Start early and try to have the cake iced at least two days before the wedding. Or, get married in December when it’s nice and cool!

Cocktail recipe for the Ultimate Summer Party:  Pommegranate Margarita (from her new book), Martha says “It’s a really good recipe. It’s costly, but if you’re making it for a small party, it’s great.
