Santa Monica’s Shore Hotel was the scene of unbridled enthusiasm as the cast of the 4th annual 24 Hour Plays celebrated their achievement on Friday night.
The cast, which included Alanis Morissette, Gavin Rossdale, Kelly Osbourne, Wilmer Valderrama, Jamie Chung, Bryan Greenberg, Abbie Cornish, Jason Ritter, Michelle Trachtenberg, Michael Ealy, Seth Green, Rosie Perez, Ashley Madekwe, Tracie Thoms, Adam Pally, Alicia Witt, Andra Day, Ashley Fink, Constance Zimmer, Danny Pudi, John Cho, Ramon Rodriguez, and Retta headed to the Broad Stage for their performance before indulging at the late night party in their honor.
It was quite an achievement, too. The creative process of the Montblanc and Urban Arts Partnership-presented 24 Hour Plays in Los Angeles began at 10 p.m. on Thursday, June 19, 2014 when six writers, six directors, twenty-four actors, and a dedicated production team met at The Broad Stage in Santa Monica. After the community of artists shared a costume, a prop, and a special skills set, each writer composed a ten-minute play by 7 a.m. the following morning. By 9 a.m. directors selected their script and their cast rehearsed over the course of the day. At 8 p.m., ink barely dry, the six new plays were performed before a live audience.
The evening went off without a hitch, and the lighthearted cast was in the mood to let loose, which they did with karaoke, mad moves on the dance floor and selfies galore.
