San Francisco is one of the world’s most artistic cities, where creativity screams from every corner, art galleries line every neighborhood and curators work feverishly to bring the work of world-renowned artists to San Francisco. Haute Living presents the top 5 art galleries in the city.
1 Serge Sorokko Gallery
One of our favorite art galleries in San Francisco, the Sorokko Gallery always has something intriguing to offer. Located in the heart of Union Square in downtown San Francisco, the gallery features a range of original work - from painting and sculpture to works on paper and photography. Under the helm of founder and owner Serge Sorokko, the gallery has fostered many emerging painters, while also exposing collectors to established artists such as Damien Hirst, Sol LeWitt, Isabelle de Borchgrave, Antoni Tapies, and Sean Scully. Every exhibit is a must-experience.

2 San Francisco Art Institute
The San Francisco Art Institute is a unique gem of San Francisco that functions as both an art gallery and a school. Definitely one of the more relaxed gallery spaces, the public has inside access to wander the halls and peek through windows. Perfect viewpoints allow for an uninterrupted view of the city in clouds or sun.

3 SF MOMA
Just because the MoMA is temporarily closed for remodeling doesn't mean that they're out of commission. Our favorite modern art museum is still going strong with rotating exhibits around the city as well as an art store in Yerba Buena Lane.
