Alan Horn has extended his contract with Walt Disney Studios into 2018.
The 71-year-old studio chairman oversees worldwide operations for the Mouse House. This includes production, distribution and marketing for both live-action and animated films from Disney, Lucasfilm, Marvel and Pixar, marketing for DreamWorks Studios films released under Touchstone Pictures and Disney’s musical and theatrical groups.
The movies he’s responsible for this year include Million Dollar Arm; Maleficent; Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day; McFarland; and Into the Woods; his first film as chairman was 2013’s The Lone Ranger.
Before his reign at Disney began, Horn was President and COO of Warner Bros., held various positions at 20th Century Fox, worked at Norman Lear’s production company, Tandem Productions, and co-founded Castle Rock Entertainment.
