Gala season is in its final month and, accordingly, pulling out all the stops. Individual tickets for the black tie event are going for $2,500 so organizers are pulling out all the stops to make sure Arsht patrons get their moneys worth with a performance by Oscar-winner, Kevin Spacey. The stage will be set in the John S. and James L. Knight Concert Hall, which will be transformed into an intimate dining room for the night where Spacey will perform Broadway-style tunes accompanies by the University of Miami Henry Mancini Institute Big Band Orchestra. The food, prepared by Barton G., will surely be as eye-catching as the hall’s transformation.

“Guests of the 2014 Arsht Center Gala are in for a real treat this April as an entertainment icon, Kevin Spacey, takes the stage of one of the most acoustically-renowned concert halls in the country,” said Swanee DiMare, chair of the Gala for the second year in a row. “Mr. Spacey’s appearance will continue the Arsht Center’s tradition of presenting best-in-class performers at its Gala in sync with the Center’s overall mission to be the centerpiece of culture in Miami. Most importantly, the dollars raised will be reinvested back into our community through the Center’s annual slate of educational programming.”

Two of South Florida’s most prominent philanthropists, Swanee and Paul DiMare, will chair the 2014 Gala event and the institution’s name benefactor, Adrienne Arsht, will serve as honorary chair. Margaret and Mike Eidson are co-chairs and Margarita and Armando Codina are Gala sponsors. An esteemed group of Miami arts leaders have also joined as co-chairs, including: Ana-Marie and Robert Barlick; Cathy and Jeff Bartel; Bunny Bastian; Trish and Dan Bell; Yolanda and Jeff Berkowitz; Louis Brais, Bouygues Civil Works Florida; Paula and Bob Brockway, Mercedes Benz of Coral Gables and Old Cutler Bay; James Ferraro; Tina and Robert Furniss-Roe of Bacardi U.S.A.. Gala proceeds will support the Center’s mission-driven arts education and community outreach programs.
