THE 29th FILM INDEPENDENT SPIRIT AWARDS

When Brangelina heads out on a rainy Saturday, you know you’re at one of the best events of the season. Such was the case this year at the 29th Film Independent Awards, which honored the likes of Cate Blanchett, Jared Leto, Matthew McConaughey and awards season “It” girl Lupita Nyong’o. Piaget, the Swiss maker of fine timepieces and opulent  jewels sponsored the event for the7th straight year, adding an international flair to the afternoon festivities. Prior to the luncheon, guests like John Waters, Angela Bassett, Gong Li and Anna Kendricks wandered through the Piaget lounge where they got an up close and personal view of the high jewelry, as they sipped Champagne. Close by, the Lincoln Motor Company’s “Unsung Heroes” lounge, invited viewers to explore the stories of the gaffers, cinematographers and makeup artists who worked tirelessly on this year’s most important independent films. After the ceremony,  Brad Pitt and the exuberant producers of 12 Year’s a Slave made an appearance at the Piaget lounge, taking questions about their exciting win for Best Feature, while others stars like Seth Meyers and Rosario Dawson picked up additional gifts like DJI’s Phantom 2 Vision flying camera and Breyers Gelato Indulgences at On 3 Productions’ presenters lounge.
