Go Around The World with Eddie Merlot’s

Eddie Merlot's

Eddie Merlot’s, the premier steakhouse known for its hand-cut prime beef, seafood, and an extensive collection of wines, invites guests on an exploratory culinary experience with two specialty menu offerings. From now until Saturday, May 31, guests at Eddie Merlot’s Chicagoland locations will be treated to a steak-centric menu inspired by international flavors from Italy, Jamaica, France, and Argentina, as part of the restaurant’s Steak and Wine from Around the World dining event. Wine connoisseurs can experience a different kind of flight through the month of August with the restaurant’s Let it Flow at Eddie Merlot’s specialty wine flights.

International Flavors with Steak and Wines from Around the World

“The Steak and Wines from Around the World is one of our favorite menus to create, because it allows us to experiment with new culinary influences,” says Executive Chef Anthony Dee. “Beef is such a versatile protein that lends itself to a variety of flavors, and these specialty offerings allow us to explore how other cultures celebrate the steak.”

Chef Dee begins the international culinary tour with Jamaica and the Caribbean Mojo Steak ($29.95), a prime flat iron steak served with Andouille red rice, grilled scallions, tostone or “fried plantain slices,” and vegetable medley known as soffritto. Eddie Merlot’s Platte River Ranch Natural New York Strip will feature in two preparations, the traditional Argentinean Churrasco ($32.95), served with chimichurri; and the Tuscan New York Strip complemented by olive tapenade and tomato-basil relish.

Diners can also savor renowned classic steak preparations, including a French-influenced Steak Frites ($27.95), a 10 oz. prime flat iron steak topped with maître d’hôtel butter and served with fresh-cut French fries; and the Steak Americana ($44.95), a 20 oz. cowboy natural ribeye accented by grilled mushrooms and onions.

Taking Flight with Let It Flow

In addition to offering a menu of internationally-inspired culinary fare, guests can experience Let it Flow – premium wine flights composed of varietals with a rating of 90 or higher from standard-bearers Wine Spectator, Wine Advocate, and the Beverage Tasting Institute will be offered for prices ranging from $11 to $34.

“Eddie Merlot’s has always been synonymous with wine, and the Let it Flow wine flights gives our team the opportunity to showcase some of our favorite varietals,” says President and Owner Bill Humphries.

As part of the Let it Flow offering, Eddie Merlot’s is offering a three-glass white wine flight, including King Estate Pinot Gris, Honig Sauvignon Blanc, and Ramey Chardonnay, for $11. A four-glass flight of red varietals – including Belle Glos Los Alturas Pinot Noir, Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon, Duckhorn Merlot, and Tablas Creek’s Esprit de Tablas – is available for $24. Guests also have the option to experience a tasting flight of all seven wines for $34.
