Go back to school with Alpana Singh! Master Sommelier and ‘Headmistress’ of The Boarding House will teach a series of wine classes starting with an introductory “How to Taste Wine” seminar from 2 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, April 26. The Boarding School classes consist of a 90-minute instructional seminar led by Singh to equip guests with the knowledge on how to taste and enjoy wine like a professional sommelier.
Attendees of the inaugural “How to Taste Wine” class will learn how to interact with the glass and select wine with confidence. Singh will give them the tools to describe and discuss the attributes of sight, smell and taste, and put all the elements together when pairing wine with food. Students will apply the deductive tasting formula to identify the grape, country, origin and vintage of six styles of wine. Singh will also demonstrate how to analyze a wine’s legs, body, nose, and other markers to get the most out of a wine tasting experience. The class is designed for both the novice and advanced enthusiast.

- Wedding Wine Boot Camp: Designed for those planning a wedding or a celebration, this special wine class will teach attendees how to select wines for the big day and work with venues, as well as tips on planning a wine getaway with a significant other or wedding party.
- Focus on France: For those who love California wines but are ready to dive into something new, learn the language of French wine in this seminar. The class will focus on California wines and their old world French counterparts, inviting guests to discover new favorites and letting their taste buds travel to France.
