Ever wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.
This week we’ve featured Alli Webb, the founder and powerhouse behind America’s favorite blow dry bar, Drybar. Alli has built an empire on beauty, with 18 locations in California alone, as well as an additional 18 locations in New York, Texas, Georgia, Washington D.C., Illinois and Massachusetts with a store in Long Island to come. Drybar is frequented by regulars such as Cindy Crawford, Emma Roberts, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Zooey Deschanel, Julia Roberts, Eliza Dushku, Maria Shriver, Renée Zellweger and Rose McGowan. Janet Gurwitch, founder and former CEO of Laura Mercier cosmetics, and Paul Pressler, former CEO of Gap Inc., are investors and sit on Drybar’s board of directors. Clearly, Alli is a force to be reckoned with! Here are the items on her desk.
- I love having things around me that are pretty, positive and that inspire me. This beautiful white monogrammed “A” box from C.Wonder was a gift and it’s my perfect little hiding spot for my makeup. And I love the subtle statement it makes at the forefront of my desk.
- The Word Cloud is really sentimental and special to me. My sister-in-law Sarah (Drybar Spirit Director!) makes one for each of us at the Drybar headquarters. Its full of unique words that describe me, my personality, quirks, passions, etc.
- My inspiration wall keeps me going. It’s like having Pinterest right next to me all day long. I often find myself day dreaming and getting inspired by a photo (I always discover something new…). I constantly add to the wall.. magazine pages, family and friend photos, pics of Drybar shops, my dog Cooper, my kids drawings. It’s a very happy wall!
- And of course, my beloved chair that I instantly fell in love with from Room Service … that + my Jonathan Adler pillow are the perfect perch for me and Cooper (who comes to work with me everyday… He sleeps in that chair almost all day!)
