It was a great day at the races on Sunday as guests turned out in droves to celebrate Big ‘Cap Day in style at the Santa Anita Park.

VIPs headed to The Chandelier Room for an elegant daytime bash in honor of the historic day of racing, which boasted a $750,000 purse.

Guests were welcomed by the dapper in-house jazz quartet who played a mixture of classics and original pieces and a variety of cocktails provided by Casamigos, George Clooney, Mike Meldman and Rande Gerber‘s tequila venture.

The crowd, a mix of swanky Orange County residents, bettors and names such as Todd Lowe, Antonio Villaraigosa and Thea Andrews were treated to an array of passed hors d’oeuvres as they placed bets and cheered their favorite horses and jockeys on from The Chandelier Room’s private sports book. A private balcony was also available to those who who wanted a live piece of the action.

The day was capped with a special guest appearance by actor and musician Jeff Goldblum, who sat in with the band on piano and even inspired certain partygoers to dance (which could have also had a little something to do with the healthy pours of Casamigos being offered).
