“The Era of Studio 54 – Fashion & Art Collide”
If you feel like taking a blast to the past that will land you smack dab in the midst of Andy Warhol’s Factory, book your stay at L’Ermitage Beverly Hills. This suite celebrates the Studio 54 era of the mid-1970s where disco, Halston, bell-bottoms and mini-skirts reigned supreme. Designer Ken Fulk’s tribute to the era pays homage to paparazzi with an iPad photo booth and to Warhol with its foil-lined walls. High-gloss lacquer and mirror finishes, orchids and vintage fashions in the closet evoke Halston, as does the use of Ultrasuede, the aforementioned fashion designer’s favorite fabric. Other period references include a powder room papered in Interview Magazine covers and a “Do Not Disturb” sign that riffs on Warhol’s iconic silk-screen portraits.

“The Golden Age: Inspired by Marilyn Monroe”
Tihany Design drew inspiration for The Pink Palace’s Suite 100 selection from the understated-elegance of Paul Williams, the celebrated architect who designed the hotel’s Polo Lounge, signage and iconic pink-and-green color scheme. The company also drew upon the glamorous lifestyle of Marilyn Monroe, a frequent hotel guest. Gracefully curved furnishings in rich hues of green and blue complement the existing architectural details of the suite’s curved ceilings and walls but still remains quintessentially Californian with decorative touches like black lacquer finishes, tropical prints, shag carpets and a bar made of rich sycamore wood. A display case showcases original artifacts from Marilyn Monroe’s estate, a library of her most popular books and films and song selections from the 1950s. For an additional fee, guests can live like Marilyn at her peak with the “Norma Jean Experience,” which includes a selection of Marilyn Monroe-themed gifts, a bottle of Chanel No. 5, round-trip airport transfers in a vintage car, a bottle of Dom Perignon, Marilyn’s Menu for Two featuring her favorite room-service dishes, two 90-minute Diamond Perfection body treatments in the hotel’s La Prairie Spa, breakfast for two, “The Beverly Hills Hotel and Bungalows – The First 100 Years” Anniversary Book, and a commemorative Marilyn Monroe Coffee Table Book.

“Film Noir”
The Montage has gone all L.A. Confidential for its 1940s-1950s era suite. As created by interior Nina Petronzio, the room evokes sultry femme fatales, trench coat-wearing detectives and smoky jazz clubs with its Art Deco furniture of lyre and geometric shapes, gold and silver leaf and mirrored finishes. Accessories include a collection of Lalique crystal and artwork from the Film Noir period as well as period-specific touches like a phonograph, vinyl records and a vintage typewriter. Those who stay in the suite can also make good use of the “Press for Champagne” button.

“The Birth of Modern Luxury”

As created by design firm Forchielli Glynn, the Peninsula becomes a hot spot for true Hollywood glamour.
