It might not surprise you that the Los Angeles Police Department is adding a Lamborghini to its fleet.

The LAPD confirmed that it’s adding a Gallardo model from the luxury Italian auto maker to its roster which is all dressed up in the police department’s decals and painted black and white.

Though it’s clearly suited for the job, this particular model won’t be engaging in any high-speed chases: its specific purpose to is to be a show pony, so to speak, for charitable events in which the LAPD are involved as well as “recruitment” purposes.

The vehicle, which has a starting price tag of $182,000 but typically runs upwards, is on loan by the local couple of Nathalie and Travis Marg of LA-based company Light Source 1.

The LAPD Gallardo is a first generation model, meaning, it is powered by a V10 engine producing 520hp.

Los Angeles isn’t the first city to have a supercar in its fleet, of course. Dubai’s police department has some of the best cars in the world at its disposal, including a Ferrari FF, Lamborghini Aventador, Aston Martin One-77 and Bugatti Veyron.
