Haute Event: Champions for Children Gala at The Plaza

Several top Manhattanites came together at The Plaza on March 12 for the 2013 Champions for Children Gala, hosted by the New York City Mission Society. Since its founding in 1812, the New York City Mission Society has helped local children and families break the cycle of poverty through comprehensive programs concentrating on education, workforce development, prevention, youth development and community building.

Following dinner and dancing in the Grand Ballroom, Goldman Sachs partner Valentino D. Carlotti, philanthropist Jean Shafiroff, and the founders of the Sisulu-Walker Charter School of Harlem, Steven and Maureen Klinsky and William Allen, were honored for their outstanding contributions to the organization. The event also featured a silent auction filled with numerous luxury items and experiences, including a four-night stay at the Round Hill Resort of Jamaica.
