Haute Event: Big Sean Celebrates His Birthday at The Bank

Big Sean The Bank 6

Hip-hop superstar Big Sean celebrated his birthday at The Bank Nightclub and gave an explosive live performance on Friday night. Before his performance, the newly engaged birthday boy (sans fiancé Naya Rivera) stopped by The Bank for a sound check and dined at Fix Restaurant & Bar with a large group of family and friends.

After dinner, he returned to The Bank with an entourage of more than 30 people including his father and future brother-in-law, NFL player Mychal Rivera. Clad in all black, he playfully posed for pics on The Bank red carpet solo and with Rivera before heading inside to a posh VIP table stocked with Moet Rose, Casamigos Tequila and Grey Goose.

Excited about his birthday, he chatted with friends and took in the club scene before taking over the DJ booth and mic at 1:50 a.m. kicking off his performance with bars from his Kanye West collaboration “Mercy.” During his set, he also took time to shout out his father and treated fans to an extended freestyle rap. The Bank team then surprised him with a decadent, tiered blue and white cake while the entire nightclub sang “Happy Birthday” to him.  After the elaborate presentation, he grabbed the mic again and concluded with the song “Beware” and verses from Chief Keef’s popular “I Don’t Like” remix. Big Sean and friends continued the celebration at his table until 3:30 a.m.

Also spotted, NFL star Reggie Bush, briefly stopping by Big Sean’s table to say hello and snap a photo.
