Alessandra Ambrosio is much more than a pretty face: the haute model also became a haute designer with the release of her first fashion line, ále by Alessandra.
The Brazilian Victoria’s Secret model debuted her signature collection at the tail end of Los Angeles Fashion Week at Planet Blue in Beverly Hills.
Celebrity friends and fans including Vanessa Hudgens, Kendra Wilkinson, Sofia Richie, Alyson Michalka, Cassie Scerbo, Dorothy Wang, Mayra Veronica and Ashlee Keating all joined the festivities to celebrate Alessandra and her new venture.
Guests mingled, shopped and sipped on Chambord cocktails with DJ CC Sheffield providing background tunes while Ambrosio showed off her favorite pieces and spoke about her inspirations for each one.
The store’s desert decor for the event perfectly complemented the collection’s boho-chic pieces that inevitably had the crowd talking about the upcoming Coachella music festival.
Silhouettes include short and long dresses, ruffled skirts, peasant blouses and uniquely designed knits. The look and fit of the collection is feminine and effortlessly sensual, reflecting Alessandra’s unique Brazil-bohemia-meets-Malibu-chic style. The fabrics are soft and flowing, and include hand-dyed tie-dye, embroidery, laser cut and pure silks, as well as prints such as paisley, floral and feathers. Retail prices range from $60 – $260.
Ling-Su Chinn, Founder and Creative Director of Planet Blue, was there to support the launch of the collection, which will be released online and in all stores today, March. 17.
Of her decision to carry Ambrosio’s line at Planet Blue, Chinn said, “Alessandra’s personal style has always embodied our Cali-boho aesthetic and the collection is a true reflection of Alessandra.”
