Starting this weekend, gourmands have a new place to find Haute Cuisine. Chef Danny Grant is going for a highly refined yet approachable feeling in the new restaurant that is offering up contemporary American cuisine with a focus on elegant dishes in a stylishly modern setting that is rather hidden in plain sight right on Collins Avenue in South Beach.

The menu is seasonally driven and was dreamed up by Grant, a two Michelin-starred and 2012 Food & Wine Best New Chef winner.  1826 will serve dishes consisting of local, regional and, of course, luxury ingredients for diners in-the-know to enjoy.

The all-glass exterior complements the sleek contours of the interior décor by Samy Chams of Prospect Design.  He is known for an international portfolio that includes the VIP Room in St Tropez, Baoli in Cannes and L’Arc Restaurant-Bar & Club in Paris. The timeless industrial design aesthetic of 1826 Restaurant & Lounge features surroundings of brushed concrete and warm woods with bronze accents creating a warm, welcoming environment.

After dinner, the venue will metamorphose into a sleek ultra-lounge, which occupies the third and fourth levels. The exclusive ambiance of the handsome hideout targets the more privacy-conscious clientele offering a more refined alternative to the hectic South Beach nightlife scene. At the lounge guests will be able to order late-night bites to accompany cocktails that we can only imagine, will be as stellar as the food.
