Jeff Kulek DeskEver wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.

This week we’ve featured the desk of Jeff Kulek, the recently hired General Manager of The London West Hollywood. Jeff boasts over 25 years of experience in the hospitality industry with prior positions as the Regional Vice President of the West Coast for Morgan’s Hotel Group. The Brooklyn, NY native now happily resides in Southern California where he continues to make the London one of the most smashing hotels in Los Angeles. Here is a look at the items on his desk.

  • The Nautical Compass  was a gift from team members at a previous property.  The compass is symbolic of their message that I could always find my way back to a welcoming place.  This was especially meaningful because it reminds me that in the hospitality industry it’s important that we not only be as hospitable and welcoming as possible to our guests but also to the colleagues and employees we work with each day.  A strong and tight knit team makes the best team and a place you want to be every day.
  • The mini replica of the “Best of British” bus  is actually part of a London Amenity presentation that is often sent up to guests.  The bus illustrates the spirit and culture of the brand, a subtle touch of whimsy and a nod to the British nuances that can be found on-property.  Though small in size, I think it’s memorable and it’s often the little things and attention to detail that leave a lasting impression with our guests and keep them coming back.
  • There are photographs of both my mother and sister who are two of my favorite people in the entire world as well as photos of my my husband and I from our wedding.  Family is incredibly important and I like being able to look at them and keep them as close possible even when we are apart.  I also keep a photo of Keanu Reeves from The Matrix which serves as an excellent reminder that if you’re bold and fearless you can conquer anything – which is an especially important mantra to keep as this year holds many new and exciting opportunities at The London West Hollywood!
