A lot of times when “wine dinner” is mentioned there can be an bigger emphasis on the wine component, which leaves the dinner to just being average at best. This is not one of those dinners. Quince restaurant in Evanston (1625 Hinman Avenue) will hold a wine dinner featuring wines from the portfolio of Robert Houde. Houde, formerly head sommelier at Charlie Trotter’s, is a local importer and distributor of fine wines. On Thursday, January 30 at 6:30 p.m., he and Executive Chef Andy Motto will lead a four course, seafood-centric meal (Tom Yum Gai; Black Cod; Monk Fish; Pear Dessert) paired with four wine selections. The seafood will be sourced from Seafood Merchants in Vernon Hills. The menu is outlined below.
