If you have a pulse and like to eat, then I’m sure you love dumplings. Mostly because you can basically stuff anything you like into one and call it a meal, and if you like dumplings then you would love bellyQ if you’ve never been. If you have had the pleasure of eating there, you already understand their commitment to making some great dumplings. Whether you’ve been there before or not, make sure you make time on Saturday, February 1 when in honor of Chicago Restaurant Week, bellyQ (1400 West Rudolph) will be offering a wallet-friendly cooking demonstration on Saturday, February 1. Chef Bill Kim will show guests how to prepare and serve three varieties of his beloved dumplings, paired with local favorite Half Acre Pony Pilsner. Guests attending the cooking demonstration will learn how to make the following dumplings:

  • Beef and Cheddar Cheese with Horseradish Sauce
  • Pork and Cilantro with Seoul Sauce
  • Buffalo Chicken with Yogurt Blue Cheese Sauce

Guests may recognize the dumplings from recently relocated Urbanbelly, now neighbors with bellyQ in Chicago’s West Loop. Chef Kim will demonstrate the step-by-step preparation of each dish, while answering questions and chatting with guests throughout the event. After each demonstration, guests will sit and eat the dishes family-style. This demonstration marks the fourth in bellyQ’s recently launched live cooking series. Tickets for the cooking demo are $35 per person (includes food and drinks). Tickets are limited and can be purchased online.
