Although I am based in Miami Beach, I LOVE Palm Beach. I often go up to the Thomas Maier boutique, located off of the world famous Worth Avenue. I have just discovered another legitimate reason to drive one hour North: Babalu Boutique, the one stop lux shopping destination, has just opened in the heart of the city….oh, and did I mention they are open late night? (for Palm Beach standards).

The perfect place for last-minute gifts, the one-stop shop offers price points from $2 to $8,000 on hand chosen specialty items from the most innovative designers and purveyors around the globe. “With a focus on travel, luxury and convenience, the new Palm Beach location is the next jewel in the crown and brand extension of the Babalu story,” said Greg Melvin, CEO of Balabu. “We are thrilled to expand to Palm Beach in anticipation of the season and look forward to delighting anyone looking for the perfect gift or the perfect way to shop in the new year and for years to come.”

The distinctive store was designed in collaboration with John Rawlins, former creative director for retail at Bergdorf Goodman, with striking cabana stripes, signature Babalu ceiling signage, sharp lines and linear in style. Rawlins also designed the original Babalu flagship location at 1111 Lincoln Road, Miami Beach.

“This power-packed location offers grab-and-go convenience on a sophisticated level and we are proud to be recognized as one of a handful of authentic concept stores in the world,” added Paulo Ambu, co-owner of Babalu. “Our merchandise assortment is designed to express adventure, style and originality.”

Babalu Palm Beach expands on its distinctive Perfume Bar which features an edited selection of the world’s most exclusive perfume lines that include Humiecki & Graef, Carner Barcelona, Maison Francis Kurkdjian (currently the most sought-after perfumier in the world, Kurkdjian is the creator behind Dior and Gaultier fragrances to name a few), Mark Buxton (creator for many of the Comme des Garcons perfumes), Mona di Orio, Mancera and Montale, Amouage, which was originally created for the Sultan of Oman, among other quality brands. Home fragrance lines include Cire Trudon, the Europe’s oldest candle production house, Fornasetti Profumi, Costes and Ex Voto Paris.

Babalu specializes in sought-after niche brands including Comme Des Garcons, Missoni and Alexandra von Furstenberg Home and Paul Smith accessories, as well as emerging designers and several exclusive lines. Choose from organic and specialty Apothecary products, curated sundry items, resort wear for women, men and children, as well as jewelry, hair accessories, small leather goods, the finest designer sunglass lines and a constant new assortment of merchandise that will always keep you inspired.

Babalu Palm Beach is located at 21 Via Mizner, Worth Avenue, and is open Monday through Saturday, 11 a.m. to 9 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 7 p.m.
