For the fourth consecutive year CHANEL is opening its elegant 200 square-meter ephemeral boutique in the heart of Courchevel, one of the most exclusive ski stations in the Alps, for the duration of the winter season. The renowned ski resort is the ideal location in which to house CHANEL’s iconic elements and silhouettes from the Maison’s various collections. Also on view will be portraits of Mademoiselle Chanel as well as self-portraits of Karl Lagerfeld himself on cable cars each seemingly taking to the air like the encompassing snow of the surroundings.
The boutique space is divided into four distinct modules. From pale oak and gold metal followed by lacquered beige and then bronze and walnut, each room welcomes Ready-to-Wear pieces and accessories from the 2013/14 Cruise collection. The fourth module is home to shoes. Providing a peak inside this enticing universe of color and form are the boutique’s showcase windows displaying stunning pieces of the brand’s fine jewerly from the Jardin de Camélias and Sous le Signe du Lion collections. Also on display are CHANEL’s latest the watch creations including Première, J12 and the new Mademoiselle Privé collection.
What’s more is that Lagerfeld has provided the cable cars on the slopes of the Jardin Alpin with his own sketches as well as images of Coco Chanel, designs from his collections and polar bears.
