When the party the night before ends a little too late, there’s something about curing it with a big breakfast and a little hair of the dog. In Aspen, plenty of places serve up both.

1 Hickory House

Oprah Winfrey once proclaimed that these ribs were her favorite, and others must agree because the Main Street restaurant always has a crowd. On Saturday mornings, there also weary-eyed, rowdy and ready to the ski hill. And yes, it serves ribs and eggs for breakfast. Specialty barbecue sauce smothers the meaty options, and the All American will satisfy anyone in the mood for eggs, toast and hashbrowns.

2 Hotel Jerome

Executive Chef Rob Zack updated Prospect's menu along with the hotel's renovation. Now, one of the best breakfasts in town is served in an elegantly contemporary dining room on Main Street. Customize a morning scramble, try the multi-grain waffles or skip straight to the fresh mimosa.

3 Aspen Over Easy

If the name doesn't give it away, this breakfast joint is a go-to for platefuls of eggs, French toast, pancakes and burritos. Located below the Aspen Brewery, if you're craving a beer with your pre-noon meal, the restaurant will serve upstairs too.

4 Bonnie's

Bonnie's is a little harder to access, but well worth the 15-minute ride on the Silver Queen Gondola and ski or snowboard to this mid-mountain restaurant. It's only open in the winter, but fresh-baked pastries, made-to-order oatmeal pancakes and the apple strudel are something you'll think about all year long. Top it off with a cup of hot wine, and you may just stay through lunch.

5 Poppycocks

A staple in the breakfast scene, Poppycocks serves until 3 p.m, so that diners can order the famous oatmeal buttermilk pancakes way into the afternoon. Back in the '70s, it was originally started as a creperie, and there's still an assortment on the menu, along with build-your-own-omelet and an array of benedict and egg options too.
