Countless celebrities flocked to the Waldorf Astoria ballroom on Nov. 9 for The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research annual benefit gala, “A Funny Thing Happened on The Way to Cure Parkinson’s.” Actor Denis Leary hosted the event, which included performances by all-star comedians such as Jim Gaffigan and Amy Schumer. Coldplay’s Chris Martin dazzled attendees with a rendition of “Yellow,” before teaming up with Fox to perform “Johnny B. Goode.” The famed actor, who was diagnosed with Parkinson’s in 1991, shared his happiness with the progress of his foundation over the years. “I think the awareness we’ve raised has been crucial in focusing toward finding a cure and being a proactive part of finding an answer,” he told the crowd. Notable attendees included Tina Fey, Ali Wentworth, Willie Geist, Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Matt Czuchry, Savannah Guthrie and Mario Batali.
