Tony La Russa’s Animal Rescue Foundation (ARF) held its second annual Leaders & Legends event Nov. 21-24 at the MGM Grand. This unique exclusive event featured Olympic gold medalists, Hall-of-Fame coaches and managers, World Series champions, NFL champions, MLB MVP winners, a Grand Slam champion and Medal of Honor recipients, all in one unforgettable weekend.

Leaders & Legends featured world champion manager Tony La Russa; HOF NBA player/NBA champion and 14-time NBA All-Star Jerry West; three-time National League MVP and two-time World Series champion Albert Pujols; 14-time Grand Slam champion Pete Sampras; World Champion Manager and Executive Vice President of MLB Operations Joe Torre; three-time NCAA champion and Olympic gold medalist coach Bob Knight; College Football HOF coach, three-time NCAA national football champion and Super Bowl champion Barry Switzer; NBA champion, NBA MVP, 12-time NBA All-Star and Olympic gold medalist Oscar Robertson; World-record holder and four-time Olympic swimming gold medalist Dara Torres; three-time Olympic beach volleyball gold medalist Kerri Walsh Jennings; CEO of Starbucks Howard Schultz; pro football Hall of Fame player and four-time Super Bowl champion Ronnie Lott; national soccer Hall of Fame player and two-time soccer Olympic gold medalist Julie Foudy; Medal of Honor recipient Major Bruce P. Leaders & Legends included two days of interactive “locker room sessions,” each featuring panel discussions about leadership, championships, personal strife and victory, concluding with an interactive Q&A with guests. Additionally, guests attended private cocktail receptions, a gala dinner, a concert with Grammy winner Michael Bublé and golf at the renowned Shadow Creek Golf Course.
