Barneys Unveils Holiday Windows on Instagram

Can’t make it to New York City to check out Barneys holiday windows in person? Not to worry! This year, the luxury department store is showing off its artistic window installments on Instagram.

To get into the holiday spirit, French visual artist Joanie Lemercier created an unprecedented series of interactive and immersive window installations comprised of light shows, 3D illustrations and even sleigh rides with Santa and Mrs. Claus!

"Reflections"

Barneys “Reflections” window features thousands of mirrors, which create an illuminating light show of reflections and patterns. According to Creative Director Dennis Freedman, The store utilized light projection technology to capture the mystery, beauty and wonder of New York.

For a truly interactive experience, enter the large gold structure via Madison Avenue sidewalk and check out a floating version of NYC created by 3D mapping and light projections.

LED lights simulate the constant and seemingly infinite motion of NYC in the store’s “City Lights” display.

Soar the streets of Manhattan in a virtual silver sled with Santa and Mrs. Claus—played by actors from the Upright Citizens Brigade. Visitors can even enter the window to pose for pictures with jolly ole St. Nick.
