This month Versace opened a new boutique in Rome’s Piazza di Spagna. The first of its kind in Italy, the new store concept was designed by Donatella Versace in collaboration with English architect Jamie Fobert.

Versace Rome Boutique

Extending over an area of 240 square meters, the boutique skillfully blends traditional Italian opulence and architectural style with the dynamic force and energy synonymous with Versace. The interior is replete with marble mosaics, fittings and details in brass and perspex contribute to a luxurious and contemporary ambience ideal for presenting Versace’s prêt-à-porter collections for men and women, as well as the brand’s accessories. The boutique also boasts magnificent mosaic floors inspired by Byzantine churches of the ninth century,

“The new Versace Concept Stores pays tribute to Italy’s cultural heritage,” said Donatella Versace. “In fulfilling this project Jamie Fobert has created a space in which the new Versace spirit can take flight. For me the boutique suggests an uninterrupted dialogue between our past and our future.”

Such a breathtaking marriage of past and present architectural elements surely sets this concept store apart from other Versace boutiques. It also underlines the brand’s constant remembrance of its Italian heritage.
