Miami may not be known for it’s bakeries, but there are many great places to find delicious baked goods.  We love baguette and country bread as much as the next city, but what gets Miami going is the sweet stuff. The cupcakes, pasteries and now… macarons. Here’s where to find the best.

1 Solo Cafe and Patisserie at Fontainebleau

Solo tops our list for being simultaneously the most delicious and most posh bakery in Miami. You'll find different things here depending on the time of day - morning brings doughnuts and cinnamon rolls while afternoons are meant to hit other cravings with cakes, croissants and an array of pastries. It's no wonder it's one of the best with Executive Pastry Chef Jordi Panisello has been named one of the 10 best in the U.S. by 'New York Times Magazine.'

2 Sweet Times Cupcakes & Coffee

Just when we thought we were at the tail end of the cupcake craze Sweet Times comes along and makes, hands down, the best, most unique cupcakes we have ever had. Their super cute deep South Miami location is straight up just coffee and cupcakes. The frosting skews more fluffy than buttercream, and for a change, these cakes aren't jaw-achingly sugary. Definitely worth the drive.

3 Atelier Monnier

This South Miami favorite now has a location in Brickell, where they will no doubt make a mark with the young professional set. They have cakes, pastries, macarons, artisanal breads, sandwiches and ice cream. Oh, and they have wine, which pretty much seals the deal.

4 Buena Vista Deli

It may be called a Deli, but Buena Vista makes a mean baguette and just about any flour-based French treat you can think of, including apple tarts. Go ahead, use them as a bakery, or stay for lunch and enjoy a sandwich on one of their amazing breads.

5 Lee & Marie's Cakery

Artisan sandwiches, fresh salads and delicious cakes in a quaint New England-style shop on South Pointe make the cakery a must hit. Homemade potato chips and other unexpected nicities might stem from their chef's pedegrees: the Pastry Chef is Yannis Janssens, who comes via the Fountainebleau along with an assistant pastry chef who was previously at the Setai.
