Where were you born ?
New York City. I’m not telling you what year. ☺
How long in Los angeles:
Since the late 70’s. We moved from Miami Beach.
Beverly Hills. Attended Beverly Hills High School.
Etiquette Expert. Graduate of the Protocol School of Washington.
Favorite Restaurant:
Craig’s. Cozy feel, fun crowd, healthy selections. My personal favorites are the warm quinoa salad and spaghetti squash primavera with grilled shrimp.
Best Sushi:
Katsuya. Great staple for good quality sushi. Crispy rice with spicy tuna and baked crab hand rolls are to die for.
Best Italian:
Madeo’s. Family owned, neighborhood feel. My favorite is the spaghetti all' aragosta with Maine lobster in a tomato sauce. I swap out the spaghetti for angel hair.
Best dessert:
The Ivy. Chocolate chip, hazelnut cookies are the perfect blend of crunch and taste.
Best place for a romantic date:
Hotel Bel Air. An escape from the world, yet only a hop, skip and a jump away. The quality of the food is equal to the beauty of the surroundings.
Best Sunday brunch:
Tavern LA. Love to order two dishes and share. My top picks: savory Brisket hash with sunny-side eggs and horseradish cream and sweet Lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry compote.
Best place for a power business meeting:
Polo Lounge. A power business meeting in this landmark setting, regardless of the outcome, always feels like a success.
If you have out of town guests, which hotel would you recommend?
Beverly Wilshire. Although they say nobody walks in LA, out-of-towners appreciate things within walking distance. This 5-star hotel on Rodeo Drive is prime real estate for shops and restaurants.
Favorite shopping venue/boutique:
Barneys blends the perfect combination of chic and traditional finds, plus, when your blood sugar runs low from all the shopping, you can run upstairs to Barney Greengrass for lunch and great people watching!
Best Spa:
The Montage This spa offers plenty of space to spread out. You can spend the whole day relaxing in the solarium, sipping healthy juices and detoxing with a wonderful array of treatments.
Favorite Charity Event:
PS Arts “Express Yourself” I am on the hosting committee for this annual kids’ event that raises money to provide arts education to under-privileged schools.
Favorite Cultural Event:
Pop concerts at any of our great venues. Justin Timberlake & Jay-Z at the Rose Bowl was a blast!
Favorite Cultural Institution:
The Geffen Playhouse is close to home and offers a wide range of great theatre.
Best Steakhouse:
Mastros. Not only is their steak fantastic, but their seafood tower and sides can’t be beat!
Best Pizza:
Pizzeria Mozza. When I’m indulging, it is the fennel sausage pizza with red onion followed by the butterscotch pudding or dessert.
Best Lunch:
La Scala. I never tire of the Leon grilled chicken chopped salad. I like to add cucumber, tomato and lots of pepperoncinis.
Best Gym/Athletic Facility:
Equinox I am religious about my group classes. My personal picks are Jill Brown’s Cross Training Extreme and Terry Simpson’s Core Synergy.
Best Massage:
The Montage. I am perfectly happy with a Swedish massage. Anything stronger borders on painful for my petite frame.
Best Limousine/Driving Service:
Empire CLS is a worldwide car service that is always reliable.
Best Museum/Exhibit:
LACMA. Over the summer, I went to see James Turrell’s light and space exhibit which was quite fantastic.
Favorite historic/legendary place to see or explore:
Huntington Gardens. The endless gardens are to die for, especially on a cold crisp day when you can walk forever.
All-around favorite locale in Los Angeles, whether a neighborhood, restaurant, venue, or other
Hollywood Bowl Unique to Los Angeles, this beautiful venue under the stars is pure heaven.
