Gloria Estefan received an enthusiastic standing ovation last night at the Royal Albert Hall. London is  the first stop of her European tour to promote her new album, The Standards, which features collaborations with award-winning artists like singer songwriter Laura Pausini, violinist Joshua Bell and saxophonist Dave Koz. She’ll be stopping in a list of cities including Madrid, Barcelona, Paris, Switzerland, the Netherlands and Belgium.  Despite selling 100 million records world wide and earning seven Grammies, Estefan had never played the famous hall. “It has always been a dream of mine to perform at the Royal Albert Hall because of its incredible history and elegance.  To perform songs from my new album, and my hits with a new twist, took my excitement for this concert to an entirely new level. Performing in the UK is always a highlight as the fans are so amazing.” said Estefan of the experience.

Songs on the tour (and album) include Good Morning Heartache and How Long Has This Been Going On. The album, The Standards, debuted in the Top 20 on Billboard’s Album chart, reached #1 on Amazon Bestsellers charts in Music, Pop, Vocal Pop, Broadway & Vocalist, iTunes Latino and Barnes & Noble.
