Ever wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.

This week we’ve featured Matt Rubinger, the Director of Luxury Accessories at Heritage Auctions. He is the foremost specialist in the luxury goods secondary market. This Vanderbilt graduate’s latest project is a boutique jewelry and designer bags auction, to be held for the first time in Beverly Hills on Sept. 23.  Hermès, Chanel, Cartier, and Van Cleef & Arpels are just a few of the brands that will be up for sale at the auction at 9478 W Olympic Blvd. Here, this Westchester, NY native gives us a sneak peek at the items on his desk.

1. My briefcase and suitcase. During auction season it always feels like I’m going or coming from somewhere. This was Hong Kong, straight to the office.

2. Holiday Auction consignments coming in for my review: Chanel Gold Crocodile Bag, Hermes box — beautiful Kelly inside, Cartier Diamond Watch, Hermes Diamond Watch.

3. Upcoming September 23 Los Angeles Auction Catalog — I cross reference with the catalog and HA.com/luxury every morning to see how pre-bidding is going.
