Haute Event: Too $hort Puts on a Show at LAX

LAX Nightclub at the Luxor welcomed hip-hop legend Too $hort for a special performance Saturday night. Hundreds of women ran to the main stage as he took his place at his VIP booth.  Joined by a large entourage, the West Coast rapper settled into his seat as he took in the sights of the packed nightlife destination.

Too $hort began to take guests back in time as he began his performance with his popular hits including “Gettin’ It” and “Shake That Monkey.” Before he led into his next song, the rapper addressed the crowd, “I want to ask you a question, LAX,” he said. “Who’s ready to party with me tonight?” He then selected a lucky lady from the audience to dance on the main stage with him as he emceed “I’m A Player,” bringing the entire nightclub to its feet.

As he brought his set to an end, Too $hort thanked his fans who have supported him throughout the years as he playfully mentioned to the crowd, “I think you know this one,” dedicating his most well-known hit to them “Blow The Whistle.” The crowd soared with excitement, dancing and singing along to the chart-topping song with the hip-hop legend. The laidback artist was proud to announce his newest collaboration with Lady Gaga and to let his fans know to look out for “Jewels and Drugs” off Gaga’s upcoming album Artpop to be released this November.

Three-time Grammy Award-winning songwriter/producer Stevie J made a surprise appearance at the club with his leading lady Joseline Hernandez from VH1’s hit reality show, “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta.” Too $hort welcomed the couple to his VIP booth.
