Blue Jade is a fine blend of traditional and modern-day style which encompasses an array of Pan Asian cuisine. The Far Eastern theme of the restaurant is embodied through its wonderful ambiance where elegant sounds of Asia blend effortlessly into its rich color palette of amber and wood. The beautiful terrace overlooks the tropical gardens of the resort and the Arabian Gulf, while the open kitchen is the perfect opportunity for diners to see Asian culinary artists in action as they prepare the restaurant’s delectable dishes.
Chef Ta Van, originally from North Vietnam has created a unique menu of Asian favorites, each distinctive in their own right but combined into an exotic Asian culinary experience.
We were welcomed with a refreshing green tea infused with rose and lychee that cleared our pallets and prepared us for the infusion of flavors to come. For starters we enjoyed the coconut prawns that were surrounded by a crispy layer of coconut with a delicious fresh fruit salad on the side. Next was the appetizer of Szuezan style aubergines with shitake mushrooms combined with tofu and black bean sauce to create a unique and delicious flavor. This delectable dish was followed by a wonderful ginger Sea Bass that was beautifully presented and wrapped in Lotus Leaf. This is one of Blue Jades’ signature dishes originally created by Chef Va Tans’ grandmother. The ginger lemon sauce added great flavor to the dish and made it one of the highlights of our evening! Other signature highlights include rice paper rolls from Vietnam, tom yum soup from Thailand, black pepper crab from Singapore and miso black cod from Japan. We also sampled the Vietnamese fried rice which served to be the perfect accompaniment to the sea bass. Even though we were left with little space, we allowed room for dessert enjoying the chilled banana sago coconut cream with pandan ice cream – a great contrast to the flavorful main dishes.
For those who would like to further their journey through the East, Blue Jade’s Infinity bar serves a wide variety of traditional Asian infused beverages which follow the same footprints as the food menu. This is a Pan-Asian culinary journey not to be missed!
Blue Jade is open from Tuesday to Sundays; the main dining area is open from 7:00 to 23:00 and the Infinity bar is open from 5.00pm to 12 midnight
