I know the unexpected would happen at Prabal Gurung Show when I walked into 360 West 33rd street. Instead of the traditional runway, there was the white rectangular and the giant clear shower curtain covering around it. Once the light went off, all the models stormed up the stage; all 38 looks at once, no going back, no changing, all were out there. Once the light came up, there stood the entire Spring 2014 collection.

Gurung stayed true to his spring aesthetic; floral, prints, colors. We can see some influences from Prada and Raf Simmon’s Dior latest collection. The colors run from pastel, bright red, yellow, green and prints. Printed translucent PVC pencil skirt, vermillion tweed jacket, reversible coat, neon cat eye sunglasses with electric trim, double bonded backless dress are among the pieces shown. His inspiration this season ranged from everything from the inside of a hospital corridor to a Tracey Emin neon sculpture and Marilyn Monroe.
