Venice Beach is about to host one of the nation’s most popular breweries.
Firestone Walker has purchased a $7.5 million space on the Westside and are hoping to open offices and a restaurant by the middle of 2014.
According to the LA Times: “A large property on Washington Boulevard just west of Lincoln Boulevard was purchased for a reported $7.5 million. The space’s two structures, which once housed doctors’ offices and a Sizzler restaurant, are to become offices for the L.A.-based brewery staff and a 7,000-8,000-square-foot restaurant.”
Co-founder David Walker had originally intended to open his business Downtown, but opted for the Westside because of its bike-friendly atmosphere.
Firestone Walker received the 2007 “Mid-Size Brewery of the Year” award by the Brewer’s Association.
