If you love burgers, Atlanta is your city. In the past few years, burger boutiques have been popping up all over town making them quite hard to resist. Whether you enjoy a no frills-burger or you love the new-age burger trend here are five of Atlanta’s best burger spots.
1 Holeman & Finch
While the chef-driven menu is great, the burger is what has locals in a tizzy. Especially since they only offer 24 delectable burgers a night. Each night “burger time” beginning at 10:00 p.m. and if you want to claim one of their hand-assembled double beef patty cheeseburgers on their homemade buns, you better get their early. In fact, they have been known to sell out in under a minute. If you are not one for lines, their famous burger is on their Sunday brunch menu.
2 Yeah! Burger
Yeah! Burger takes a new approach to the traditional American burger joint with a commitment to “keeping food real” (i.e. organic and without all those additives and hormones). Choose your patty (such as the Grass-fed Beef Burger or the All natural Turkey burger), your bun (the gluten-free is surprisingly good), top it off and get sauced. Named by Bon Appetit as one of their favorite burger spots in America, Yeah! has also attracted celebrity diners including Minnie Driver, Mena Suvari and Luke Wilson.

3 Flip Burger Boutique
One of the first in the city to hone in on the burger trend, Flip has conquered the market and left diners Top Chef Alum Richard Blais pretty much started the burger boutique trend in Atlanta when he opened Flip Burger Boutique. The choices at Flip range from pretty typical, such as a beef burger with caramelized onions, to a very adventurous burger with foie gras. And considering Blais defines a burger as anything ground that is served on a bun, you will find a variety of types like the raw tuna tartare and the fried chicken burger. Don’t leave without trying one of the unique flavors such as Nutella and Burnt Marshmallow, Krispy Kreme or Strawberry Shortcake. Also, check their Facebook page to see the burger of the day.
4 Grindhouse Killer Burger
Grindhouse Killer Burgers gives us another reason to venture downtown. Trust us, it is well worth the trip inside the Auburn Curb Market for this juicy and delicious burger. Tucked away inside the Sweet Auburn Curb Market you will find stools at this small curved counter. This simple spot is perfect for the no-frills burger and fries joint. Simply enjoy your beef, cooked to order, and be on your way. That is after you sip on the impossibly thick (and heavenly) milkshakes.
If you are looking for a great burger, great beer and a great patio: head over to TAP on Peachtree. While the menu is not all about the burger, the specialty Pub Burger, is enough to catch the attention of burger enthusiasts. The burger, made with 50% Brisket and 50% chuck, is topped with American Cheese, house made B and B pickles and served between a whole wheat English muffin. Oh, and it comes with a shorty chocolate milkshake and shoestring fries. Delish.
