What’s On My Desk: Louis XIII Global Marketing Director Augustin Depardon

photo bureau AD 036Ever wonder what the most powerful leaders, business execs and celebrities keep on their desks? Well, we’re about to tell you. Our biweekly “What’s on My Desk” feature will take a look inside the offices and at the desks of the world’s most influential power players.

This week we’ve featured Augustin Depardon, the Global Marketing Director of Louis XIII cognac. Depardon oversees the sales and marketing development of LOUIS XIII globally, a position he has held since September 2003. He has acted as Communication Director of the House of Rémy Martin since July 2010. As LOUIS XIII has entered its third century, Depardon has initiated successful innovations commensurate with its storied heritage, including the introduction of LOUIS XIII Black Pearl, LOUIS XIII Jeroboam, and LOUIS XIII Rare Cask, whose second expression is being released in Summer 2013. Specializing in the spirits sector since 1993, the French native has worked both at the distributor level within LVMH Moet Hennessey, and currently at Rémy Cointreau, at the brand management level. He currently lives in Paris with his wife and two daughters. Here is a peek at the items on his desk.

  • This stone is one of the lithographic stone that was used between 19th and 20th centuries to print our Rémy Martin labels. This one is from 1914 as you can read on it “Eau de Vie de Grande Champagne 1914”. A piece of memory in our 300 years of history.
  • My Montblanc Meisterstück pen. Almost a relic of the past as nowadays we are working a lot with blackberry, computer or ipad, everything is going fast… I like to take the time to write things down on paper during the day, I like the sensuality of this writing instrument.
  • My Laguiole paper knife is a gift from my father. Laguiole is a high-quality traditional Occitan pocket-knife, originally produced in the town of Laguiole in the Aveyron, region of southern France. It’s a sentimental link to my roots.
