Preppy Chic Menswear At Cottage Miami

The burgeoning hotspot that is Miami Beach’s Sunset Harbour neighborhood just got another feather in its cap: Cottage Miami. The quaint mens shop boasts established and emerging brands for Miami’s style-conscious gentlemen who likes high quality goods with classic style. Housed in a refurbished garage, the feeling of the store is upscale industrial and is a welcome addition to the limited number of boutiques catering to the stronger sex.

“Preppy style has evolved from less of a costume look into something more wearable and relevant. If you’re wearing an outfit from my store, the first word that comes to mind is gentleman,” explains owner Ariel Burman.

Cottage Miami carries all-weather knits, chic sport jackets and other casual items from Band of Outsiders, APC, Baxter of California, Officine Generale and Palm Beach favorite Stubbs & Wootton. The store’s preppy mix makes for a relaxed coastal vibe that would be at home in Nantucket or Barritz, which is the goal. Owner Ariel Burman explains “Preppy style has evolved from less of a costume look into something more wearable and relevant. If you’re wearing an outfit from my store, the first word that comes to mind is gentleman,” he says. Burman, who has long been known as a sartorial success, did an early career 180 away from the law and into retail. It appears as though his first foray is a home run.
