Jenny McCarthy In Talks to Join ‘The View’

Jenny McCarthy has just joined the list of potential new co-hosts on ABC’s beloved daytime talk show, The View. Although she currently hosts her eponymous show on VH1, she is in “serious talks” to become a leading lady on the popular women’s show.

The cherished talk show will likely get a major makeover in the future, considering its upcoming goodbyes. Next month, Joy Behar will leave, and recent rumors speculate the same for Elisabeth Hasselbeck. Executive producer and View matron Barbara Walters will retire next May. However, Whoopi Goldberg and Sherri Shepherd are expected to stay.

According to a source who confided in Us Magazine, “the cast and crew get a kick out of Jenny” and that “she’s a good fit” who “works well with a group ensemble.” The 40-year-old former Playboy playmate and actress is reportedly “definitely open to it.” This won’t be McCarthy’s first experience with the show; she has guest-hosted frequently in the past.

Along with Jenny McCarthy, Brooke Shields appears on the short list of potential new hosts.
