Ivanka Trump to Debut New Collection at Bloomingdale’s

Ivanka Trump will launch her latest collection, Ivanka, at Bloomingdale’s on August 12. Bloomingdale’s will have a month-long exclusive monopoly on the collection before competing stores showcase it four weeks later.

As part of the designer’s burgeoning empire, the Ivanka line will feature cutting-edge leather handbags. Trump already offers accessories, apparel, outerwear, fragrance and footwear. Fans of the celebrated style icon can look forward to her home products and sunglasses in 2014, along with the possibility of watches and children’s wear.

“My main focus is solidifying all the categories I have already launched, but there are a few categories I’m thinking about potentially bringing into the mix, only if it’s the right opportunity with the right partner,” Ivanka Trump told WWD. “Outside of fragrance, I haven’t done anything in beauty yet.”

Ivanka Trump looks forward to expanding to Bloomingdale’s and opening up her fashion distribution, after her stable success with The Bay, Lord & Taylor, Macy’s and Nordstrom. “It’s very important that we don’t grow distribution for the sake of distribution,” Trump said. “We will only go into stores where the customer base is appropriate for the brand and where there is the presentation to support it. Bloomingdale’s has been an unbelievable retail partner. We worked with them to create a collection that will be well positioned for their customer and complementary with my shoe line.”

Competing with other household fashion names like Michael Kors, Coach Kate Spade, the collection will range in prices from $225 to $395. “Aesthetically, it has a unique point of view, but it’s still consistent with my brand,” revealed Trump. “There’s a tremendous amount of architectural inspiration and hexagon elements that evoke my jewelry. I tend to like more rigid shapes as opposed to less structure.”
