Haute Jet of the Week: Cessna’s New Citation X

Cessna is renowned for building incredible jets, and the new Citation X is no exception. Research and development for this project began back in 1990 and was originally introduced in 1996.

In 2010, Cessna announced plans for a revamp of the Citation X, and its first prototype flew in January 2012. The new Citation X is now the world’s fastest business jet.

There are several changes to be aware of regarding the design, according to gizmag. Details include a 14.9in longer cabin (from its predecessor), 2cm in extra height, 26 nautical mile increase in range and a 5.6ft. increase in wingspan. The jet’s max speed is 0.935.

Cessna CEO Scott Ernest reports in a recent press release, “The Citation X is the perfect aircraft for customers wanting to move faster, be more efficient and get where they need to be more quickly than ever before.”
