April showers bring May flowers, along with fashion and film. I attended the 14th annual FARE Spring Food Allergy Luncheon at Cipriani 42nd Street on April 17. Co-chaired by Abbey Braverman, Roxanne Palin and Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, the luncheon funds food allergy research to lessen the fears of children and adults who worry about unsafe food. So many people came out to support this great and necessary cause, including Stephanie Winston Wolkoff, Lori Stokes, Abbey Braverman, Jill Heller, Christine Mack, Debra Peltz, Meredith Verona, Libbie Mugrabi, Allison Lutnick, Caroline Berthet, Jennifer Creel, Liz Lange and Jane Wagman.
Sometimes it’s great to reminisce on childhood memories and play dress up. Brett Heyman and Marina Larroudé invited me to a fashion play date at Florence Fancy on May 9, hosted by Jo de Mer’s owner Amalia Spinardi. Amalia gave all the mothers and daughter matching bathing suits! The fun continued with magicians, clowns, manicures and face painting—such a cute event! My sister Lauren brought her daughters. Loads of other people stopped by, including Jennifer Raines, Nancy McCormick Vella, Lara Stolman-Watzky, Coralie Charriol, Karen Larrain and Cammy, Jen Brown, Scot Lerner and Cali, Alex Gaines, Stacey Pashcow, Alison Brettschneider, Tara Spiegel, Jessica Sailer, Karla Martinez, Julie Macklowe, Tracey Murphy and Debbie Peltz.
The fun continued with film on May 17 at the first benefit for React to Film, hosted by Coralie Charriol Paul and Dennis Paul. I went in a Rolls Royce to Libet Johnson’s townhouse where they showed a video from Avis Richard’s company, Birds Nest Foundation, along with a clip from Adrian Grenier’s new movie. React to Film is working to create a special high school intensive elective course where filmmaking is offered four days a week for 50 minutes per day. They plan to roll it out to a small pilot of high schools and provide teachers with training and resources such as cameras and editing equipment. Dylan Lauren, Chris and Richard Mack, Amanda Ross, Ali Wise, Dani Stahl, Elizabeth Kisel, Jill Amendi, Lilly Johnson, Charles Rockefeller and Marissa Noel Brown all stopped by the event to show their support.
