Last week, Untitled Chicago (111 West Kinzie) held their first Annual American Whiskey Affair. It was a night to remember with live music courtesy of The Whiskeybelles, whiskey tastings with over 75 All-American whiskeys and bourbons, and there were hors d’oeuvres served up, including smoked salmon canapés, corn bread bites and pork belly lollipops. Guests of the event got the opportunity to meet the Distillers that created over 75 American bourbons and whiskeys! They were up close and personal with some of the country’s most popular distillers and enjoyed a lesson in the production, history, and flavor profile of each whiskey from each distillery. High profile distillers such as Wes Henderson (Angel’s Envy), Bernie Lubbers and Craig Beam (Heaven Hill), Bill Samuelson of (Marker’s Mark), Jimmy Russell (Wild Turkey), and Fred Noe (great grandson of Jim Beam), Jeff Arnett (Jack Daniels), Keith Kerkhoff (Templeton Rye), Jarle Lillemoem (Bone Spirits), and many more were on hand at the pouring booths to discuss whiskey and autograph bottles for purchase. The event was a huge success and a good indicator that there will be a Second Annual American Whiskey Affair next year.
