Theatre Aspen Welcomes Les Miserables to Celebrate 30th Anniversary

Les MiserablesA global phenomenon is coming to the Aspen stage this summer: Les Miserables. To celebrate Theatre Aspen’s 30th anniversary, the nonprofit welcomes the Tony Award-winning musical to the newly remodeled theater in Rio Grande Park.

Artistic Director Paige Price said, “For our 30th birthday, we really wanted to push the boundaries in our new theatre. An event like Les Misérables seemed like a no-brainer, especially with the imminent release of the film. I’m also excited by the sheer variety of this season’s shows.”

Theatre Aspen will present a new production of Alain Boubil and Claude-Michel Schönberg’s Les Misérables, based on the novel by Victor Hugo, with music by Schönberg and lyrics by Herbert Kretzmer.

Les Miserables runs June 21 through Aug. 17. Theatre Aspen will also produce the comedy Fully Committed July 5 through Aug. 15, and You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown runs July 11 through Aug. 17. Tickets can be purchased at Theatre Aspen.
