Standard Spa Hosts 4th Annual Paddle Board for Change

medium

For the fourth year running, the Standard Spa Miami will host hundreds of stand up paddle-boarders from around South Florida at Paddle4People, a charity paddle-boarding race. Since 2010, the Standard Spa Miami has partnered with TKS Miami and others to offer interested parties the opportunity to race off beautiful South Beach while raising money for a good cause.

This year, the race is on June 22nd and all donations go directly to 2013’s chosen charity: Jackson Takes Action. Jackson Takes Action is a not for profit charity supporting research and funding for children with acute lymphoblastic leukemia – the most common form of cancer found in children ages 0-21.

Departing from Maurice Gibb park, racers will be able to partake in either the elite 7-mile course, or the 4-mile competition and fun course. There’s even room for first-timers with experienced TKS Miami personnel available on site  to provide a quick lesson before sending racers off.  The race ends at the Standard Spa Miami where racers can relax and enjoy a BBQ and raffle.

Paddle4People begins at 7 am on June 22nd. Those interested can sign up for the race online at the Standard Miami’s site or through TKS Miami’s site. Racers are encouraged to donate as much as they can for Jackson Takes Action with a minimum donation of $50. Paddleboards will be available to rent for $20.
