Only one day after winning the first leg of the Triple Crown, Orb has arrived in New York City’s Belmont Park to prepare for the Preakness Stakes on May 18. Belmont is the home base for the thoroughbred’s trainer Shug McGaughey, who registered the first Derby win of his career.

“I’m glad the target is on my back,” McGaughey, 62, told the New York Daily News. “I do. I’m glad to be in this position. It’s a position I have wanted to be in for 30 some years.”

McGaughey has never won the Preakness in two previous attempts, but is confident that this race will be different. “If we’re able to pull it off the next time,” he says, “the target is going to get really big and I want it that way.”
