Famous Parisian ‘Starlette’ Cake Arrives in Beverly Hills

After 27 successful years in France, Michele La Porta is heading to Beverly Hills to share her sweet secrets for a no sugar, no flour, no eggs, no butter and no fat cake. Popular among Parisian celebrities like Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and Karen Mulder, the Starlette Cake can now be found at numerous luxe locations across LA.

Michele La Porta is a restaurateur who, in 1985, create what began as “The Cool” and eventually  became known as the Starlette Cake due to it’s popularity among the stars in France. Her no fat, no sugar combination has created an international buzz and she has created cakes for celebrities ranging from Stevie Wonder to Kim Kardashian, as well as for special occasions such as Oscar receptions.

La Porta has put much effort and research into creating a “light, healthy and tasty recipe,” resulting in one of the most well-known cakes. She is now bringing her creation to the Los Angeles area, and the cake can be found at the following locations:

Luxe Hotel Rodeo on the Terrace

Monsieur Marcel restaurants, Farmers Market and N. Canon

Sur Restaurant and Lounge

Perry’s Café (nine location throughout Santa Monica and Venice)

Riviera 31 at Sofitel on Beverly Boulevard.

La Porta’s dream is for those with a sweet tooth to “have your cake and eat it too.” According to her website, her cool, tart and slightly sweet cake includes non-fat plain yogurt and is “light and creamy.”
